Flue gas cleaning in waste incineration plants
Pumps for flue gas cleaning in waste incineration plants
The quantity of waste is increasing worldwide to a considerable extent. In many countries the capacities of existing rubbish tips are virtually exhausted. To reduce the amount of waste going to rubbish tips, there is an increasing need for waste incineration plants. The aim of waste incineration is
- a reduction in volume (1000 kg of residual waste is converted into 350-400 kg of clinker and ash some of which can be reused),
- extraction of secondary raw materials from residues of the thermal treatment and of the exhaust gas cleaning,
- utilisation of the rubbish as energy (the calorific value of undiluted waste is an average of 8000 kJ/kg, for comparison brown coal is in the range of 8,500 to 16,000 kJ/kg),
- to convert the unusable residues remaining after treatment of the residual waste into an environmentally acceptable form,
- to destroy the organic contaminants in the residual waste and to remove toxic components
Rheinhütte Pumpen has optimum application-specific pump designs that meet the high requirements in the field of flue gas cleaning. These are pumps which are characterised by very long service lives, operational reliability and extremely favourable life cycle costs.
