History

A 160-year tradition:

Rheinhütte Pumpen has already passed some milestones. These are part of the success story and the reason why we are now internationally active as a pump specialist.

2019

Development of the new mechanical seal concept RHETA. The metal-free seal is characterized by its innovative materials, the standardization of the individual parts and the fast and uncomplicated assembly.

2019

Rheinhütte Pumpen is acquired by ITT Inc. ITT is one of the most recognized and respected brands in the global pump industry, serving customers in the oil and gas, mining, power generation and general industrial markets.

2016

FRIATEC-RHEINHÜTTE GmbH & Co. KG spins off from FRIATEC AG on 1 September 2016 and becomes RHEINHÜTTE Pumpen GmbH.

2001

Glynwed Pipe Systems is taken over by the Belgian Etex Group, which splits 2 years later. The business units Engineering Plastics, Technical Ceramics and Mechanical Engineering receive a new name: Aliaxis

1998

Takeover of FRIATEC AG by the English Glynwed, a member of the Glynwed Pipe Systems Group.

1993

Opening of the first service centre in Wiesbaden. The need for fast and reliable service combined with high quality standards leads to the establishment of further service centers.

1988

The Friedrichsfeld group, today FRIATEC AG, takes over Rheinhütte and ensures the existence of what up to now has been a family concern. With the transfer of the Friedrichsfeld ceramic pump range, Rheinhütte gained new technological impetus on the Wiesbaden site.

1978

Due to the 50% participation in VKP in Rennerod, the product range is extended by plastic pumps.

1932

Development and manufacture of the first Rheinhütte chemical valves.
Meanwhile in Rheinhütte pumps are being manufactured from silicon iron, grey iron, gunmetal and steel castings, from stainless steel, bronzes and hard lead.

1927

A patent application is filed for the hydrodynamic shaft seal. This invention from 1927 has been continuously technically developed and is still a very important sealing variant today.

1920

Over the next few years Rheinhütte focuses on the development of innovative products and designs the first cement slurry pumps, followed by the glandless, hydrodynamically sealed chemical centrifugal pump and the first cast silicon chemical pumps.

1909

For the first time, acid-resistant silicon castings with a high Si-content are produced. Even today, this material is still one of the most resistant materials.

1900

Start of the development of corrosion resistant metallic materials.

1869

The “Rheinhütte Gesellschaft” is taken over by Professor Ludwig Beck. The workforce of the “Rheinhütte Ludwig Beck and Co.”, as the company is now called, grows quickly. The focal point of production is now on the manufacture of cast parts, their machining and general mechanical engineering.

1857

Stock company "Anonyme Nassauische Rheinhütte Gesellschaft" is founded as a blast furnace plant. At the beginning of 1860 it was converted into an iron foundry.
